The Tennessee Titans have added a new player to their roster after putting in a successful waiver claim on former Houston Texans linebacker, Zach Cunningham.
Cunningham was released by the Texans earlier this week after not showing up for a COVID-19 test prior to the team’s Week 13 contest against the Indianapolis Colts.
This is a big get for the Titans, a team dealing with injuries at the inside linebacker spot at the moment.
Starter David Long has missed the last three games and looks set to miss his fourth in a row, and rookie Monty Rice has all but been confirmed to be out for the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury.
Cunningham led the NFL with 164 tackles in 2020 and has broken the century mark in that category three times during his career. In 2021, Cunningham has 67 tackles in 10 games.
Titans head coach Mike Vrabel already has familiarity with the 27-year-old, as he was Cunningham’s defensive coordinator back in 2017 when the pair were together in Houston.
