Not that it was even necessary, but Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown has apologized for going on Instagram Live prior to having double knee surgery on Tuesday.
The apology wasn’t even necessary because Brown didn’t say or do anything wrong. He did reveal that he was having surgery on both knees, and that he was told by the team he should have been out for the season after Week 2, although he might have been a bit loopy when he shot the video.
“They told me I was done for the year in Week 2. I played all year. And I made the Pro Bowl. Didn’t know how I was gonna do it. I did it,” Brown said in the video.
As you’d expect, Brown’s statement created a frenzy, as the second-year pro posted a sensational season with 1,075 yards and 12 scores in 14 games, all the while apparently dealing with these issues.
Here’s what Brown had to say about his Instagram appearance on Wednesday:
Hi everyone , I’m doing fine post surgery. I’m really embarrassed that I did that. Even though it was funny to many , I didn’t find it funny . I’m sorry I embarrassed the Titans organization because that is not who I am at all. It’s really the nurse fault btw.

Saying he embarrassed the Titans is definitely a stretch. I can’t imagine anyone having an issue with Brown’s video, but we respect him for apologizing anyway.
Most importantly, the surgeries Brown had were described as a “cleanup”, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, and he’s expected to be fine in a few weeks and they shouldn’t have any impact on his 2021 season.
