On Monday, the Tennessee Titans added two players to their practice squad while letting go of two others.
The team announced it has signed both defensive lineman Taylor Stallworth and defensive back Tay Gowan to the practice squad. Getting the boot are defensive back Armani Marsh and offseason award-winner and defensive lineman, Jayden Peevy.
Here’s what we wrote on Stallworth when the move was first announced by his agent earlier in the day:
A former undrafted free-agent signing of the New Orleans Saints out of South Carolina, Stallworth has appeared in 57 games (two starts) over five seasons in the NFL, tallying 4.5 sacks, 52 combined tackles (seven for loss) and 14 QB hits. He has not taken a snap this season, though.
Gowan was originally a sixth-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2021. He’s appeared in five games during his career, including two with the Philadelphia Eagles and three with the Minnesota Vikings.
The Central Florida product has tallied two tackles in 44 defensive snaps and 47 special teams snaps.
Tennessee’s secondary and defensive line struggled mightily in Week 5, so the team making some moves at both position groups isn’t surprising. Both Stallworth and Gowan give Tennessee more experienced options on the practice squad than they had in Peevy and Marsh.
