Titans activate punter Brett Kern off COVID-19 list

The Titans will be getting The GOAT back in Week 7.

The Tennessee Titans are getting “The GOAT” — punter Brett Kern — back just in time for their Week 7 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Titans announced on Friday morning that Kern has been activated off the Reserve/COVID-19 list, making him eligible to suit up on Sunday.

It has been a tough three weeks for Kern. Prior to going on the COVID-19 list last week, he had missed the previous two games with a groin injury.

It was clear he was about to return a few days ago after Tennessee parted ways with punter Johnny Townsend, who performed admirably in Kern’s place.

Kern has had a run of bad luck the past two seasons, leading to his missing a total of six games in that span. In the 12 seasons prior, the 35-year-old didn’t miss a single game.

The Titans will host the Chiefs on Sunday, with kickoff at Nissan Stadium set for noon CT.
