Tim Tebow caught a touchdown pass from Trevor Lawrence in OTA’s with the Jaguars

Urban Meyer said Tebow has improved as a tight end so far.

Trevor Lawrence couldn’t say very much about Tim Tebow earlier this week when he was asked. Lawrence really only knew Tebow from playing with him on the NCAA games that we all miss, dearly.

But now, after working with Tebow in over the last week, it seems the former Broncos quarterback and the Jaguars rookie are forming a bit of a connection.

Tebow reportedly caught touchdown passes so far in OTA’s with one coming Lawrence in OTA’s, according to the Florida Times-Union. The other came from Gardner Minshew. They were both in short-yardage goalline situations. He also didn’t drop a single pass.

He’s still got some work to do, though, John Reid of the Times-Union writes.

Tebow also didn’t look natural, like the other tight ends did, when he had to throw a forearm rip into a hand-held blocking dummy and then shed another block, before carrying on with his route. A few times, he looked somewhat out of sorts.

Urban Meyer characterized Tim Tebow’s first OTA with the Jaguars as “awkward” but said he’s improved.

“Oh well, I wouldn’t say weird — awkward maybe, the first practice. But it’s 1 of 90, trying to make the team. He has improved, it’s all new for him, but Tyler Bowen is doing a good job with our tight ends as a whole.”

It sounds like Tebow has quite the journey ahead of him.
