Tiger Woods’ quest for a record-setting 83rd win on the PGA Tour will have to wait.
After making his 18th cut in as many appearances at Jack Nicklaus’ Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, the 44-year-old carded a 4-over 76 during Sunday’s final round that was briefly delayed due to weather. Woods walked off the course T-42 at 6 over.
Much like his opening round on Thursday, Woods began the day with a birdie on No. 1, looking relaxed and confident in his Sunday red. Much like his Friday 4-over 76, the wheels then fell off. Fast.
Woods bogeyed the par-3 4th and then played his final three holes on the front nine at 4 over with a double-bogey on the par-5 7th and a pair of bogeys on Nos. 8 and 9. Despite hitting 5-7 fairways he made the turn at 4 over 40.

As the greens continued to firm up and the winds blew harder Woods did well to stop the bleeding on the front-half of his back nine, conceding just one bogey amid five pars on Nos. 10-15. The 15-time major champ made consecutive birdies on Nos. 16 and 17 with some beautiful shots before play was postponed due to incoming weather while Woods was approaching the 18th green. He ultimately made bogey to put an end to what will ultimately be a forgettable week.
