The No. 18 Auburn Tigers survived a scare on Wednesday.
The Tigers trailed Georgia State, 31-28 due to poor shooting. Auburn was only able to connect on 32% of their shots, and could not take advantage of rebounds.
The lone bright spot in the first half was the effort of [autotag]Jaylin Williams[/autotag]. Williams was second in points, trailing only [autotag]Wendell Green Jr.[/autotag], but he would go 2-2 from the field as well as the free throw line and would connect on a three-pointer on his way to scoring seven points.
He would score 13 more in the second half, which was vital to Auburn’s second-half surge, which ended with Auburn earning the 72-64 win.
You can not tell the story of Auburn’s win over Georgia State without mentioning the amazing performance by Williams, which is why he was a majority choice for the “Tiger of the Game” award.
Here is a look at who writers Taylor Jones, J.D. McCarthy, and River Wells voted for as their “Tigers of the Game” following Auburn’s win over Georgia State.
