Thunder again select Serbian Aleksej Pokusevski in latest mock draft

What will the Thunder do with the 25th pick of the 2020 NBA Draft?

With the 2020 NBA Draft scheduled for Nov. 18, the event is just over two weeks away. Half the fun of covering the draft is trying to predict where certain prospects will land.

In many instances, a team’s intentions will become known prior to the event, but in most others, they remain somewhat of a mystery. Nonetheless, analyzing the draft and making predictions about where certain teams will go with their picks is a fun endeavor. And for some insiders, the predictions are typically well-sourced and can give insight as to what a specific front office prioritizes.

Writing for The Ringer, Kevin O’Connor has become one of the most plugged-in sources for draft-related coverage. He has the Thunder selecting 18-year-old Serbian big man Aleksej Pokusevski with the 25th selection in the draft.

O’Connor also cites sources as connecting Pokusevski with the franchise.

Pokusevski has been connected to the Thunder in two separate conversations with league sources in just the past week. There’s been little coverage of the lanky, 7-foot Serbian, but for a team about to enter a rebuild like Oklahoma City, drafting the player with the highest upside on the board seems like a no-brainer.

Last week, we published another mock draft that had the Thunder selecting Pokusevski, so there are multiple outlets that believe that the Thunder could swing for the fences and draft potential.

That, of course, assumes he will still be on the board — which isn’t guaranteed.
