Four seasons ago, the Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs played one of the greatest regular-season games in NFL history. It was easy to say that immediately after the epic 54-51 shootout ended at the Coliseum, but even four years later, that statement stands true.
It really was one of the best games ever, and the numbers are there to back it up.
It was the first game in league history where both teams scored at least 50 points. The 105 combined points are the third-most all-time and the most ever in a Monday Night Football game. The Chiefs became the first team ever to lose a game despite scoring 50 points. The two quarterbacks, Jared Goff and Patrick Mahomes, combined for 925 yards and 11 touchdowns.
We certainly won’t be getting a repeat of that incredible duel this weekend when the Rams and Chiefs square off for the first time since they met in 2018, but it’s always fun to go back and watch highlights from the Rams’ 54-51 win over Mahomes and the Chiefs. On this Thanksgiving Throwback Thursday, enjoy 16 minutes of that wild matchup from four years ago.
