Three-star wide receiver from North Carolina will take official Duke visit in early June

Nasir Newkirk, who plays high-school ball for James B. Dudley High School in Greensboro, will take an official visit with Duke on June 7.

Duke football will welcome three-star 2025 wide receiver Nasir Newkirk for an official visit on June 7.

Newkirk shared the decision with 247Sports’ Anna Adams, who reported his schedule on X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday.

Newkirk, an in-state product from Greensboro, plays for James B. Dudley High School. One of the top 120 receivers in the class (according to 247Sports Composite Rankings), Newkirk measures out at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds.

In last season’s 14-1 campaign for the Panthers, he finished second on the team with 1,123 receiving yards and paced Dudley with 16 receiving touchdowns.

According to Adams’ report, the North Carolina native will also visit with Virginia Tech, Liberty, and Virginia over the next month.

Newkirk will join fellow 2025 recruits like defensive lineman Adam Shovlin and wide receiver Gerritt Kemp in Durham for the second weekend in June.

First-year Duke head coach Manny Diaz already has 10 commitments for the 2025 cycle, headlined by four-star linebacker Cameron Smith and quarterback Dan Mahan.

Adams’ article about Newkirk’s schedule said he expects to make a decision in July, indicating that those four schools on the schedule are his finalists.
