Signing day flip: LSU loses three-star tight end to SEC foe

LSU’s recruiting class took another hit with a three-star tight end flipping to South Carolina

LSU football’s 2025 recruiting class took another loss on Wednesday with three-star tight end Mike Tyler flipping from the Tigers and joining South Carolina’s class.

Tyler committed to LSU in August, but this flip was expected and was in the works for weeks. Tyler is a South Carolina native and is electing to remain home.

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Tyler is the No. 520 overall prospect in the class.

Tyler is one of several prospects to leave LSU’s class in recent weeks, but again, it was expected.

Despite losing Tyler, LSU’s class remains ranked in the top 10 and has a chance to climb if LSU pulls off a major flip later in the day. So far, the Tigers have avoided any surprise flips.

Four-star [autotag]JD LaFleur[/autotag] will be LSU’s lone tight end signee in 2025. Expect LSU to be active in looking for a tight end on the transfer market with current starter Mason Taylor potentially declaring for the NFL Draft.
