Three-star DB D’Aryhian Clemons is a sleeper in Washington’s 2025 class

Washington’s domination of in-state recruiting has been apparent during this cycle and one of the stars of the group is athlete D’Aryhian Clemons who can fill numerous positions.

The Washington Huskies and coach Jedd Fisch are working nonstop to fill out their 2025 recruiting class which is now ranked among the top 20 in the nation. While the team has multiple four-star headliners, defensive coordinator Steve Belichick is pursuing plenty of versatile athletes that can slot into his system.

Among them is three-star commit D’Aryhian Clemons, who had offers from numerous former Pac-12 teams but ultimately chose to stay close to home and commit to Washington.

Clemons is a do-it-all piece for his high school team, playing running back, wide receiver, cornerback, and some safety. With the amount of talent that the Huskies are bringing in on the offensive side of the ball and Clemons’ ability at cornerback, it appears that his future at the college level is in the secondary.

While Clemons has yet to fully focus on the cornerback position, the raw physical tools that he possesses should set him up for sustained development when he reaches the college level.

Clemons showcases excellent instincts when breaking on passes thrown or closing to ball carriers. Long speed is another upside in his game, though he didn’t always get to show it on the defensive side, he displays elite breakaway speed in his offensive highlight reel.

When he gets to Washington, Clemons will need to add weight to his slight frame for the position at the college level. Washington’s cornerback room could be set up extremely well if the product of Spanaway Lake High School can develop in the coming years, he offers inside and outside flexibility depending on the needs of the team going forward.

Clemons isn’t the longest corner, so playing more nickel during his career could really maximize the skillset that he has. Against teams with shifty slot receivers, Clemons could shine when working from the inside.

There is a lot to like about Clemons’ game that will give his career plenty of potential outcomes that will become more clear once he begins his Washington career, and cornerbacks coach John Richardson is the right man for the job to help him develop.
