Three-star ATH Deji Ajose chooses Washington

The Washington Huskies added a talented prospect who excels at multiple positions at Bishop O’Dowd High School.

Three-star athlete Deji Ajose announced his commitment to Jedd Fisch’s coaching staff on Saturday afternoon, giving the Huskies a third pass catcher in the 2025 class.

Ajose, a product of Bishop O’Dowd High School in Oakland, California is ranked as the nation’s No. 40 athlete and No. 47 player in the state, and is expected to join wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings’ group upon his arrival in Seattle. He earned his offer on May 15 and it took just over a month for him to decide on Seattle as his new home after a flurry of official visits that also took him to Oregon State, California, and Utah.

He earned the “athlete” designation thanks to his prowess on both sides of the ball, as 247Sports national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins wrote that he believes Ajose, who also plays safety and linebacker for O’Dowd, has a higher ceiling on defense.

Clearly, Jedd Fisch and Kevin Cummings disagree, and put a lot of effort into developing a strong relationship with the 6-foot-2, 175-pound prospect.

“Washington’s staff is incredible,” Ajose told 247Sports’ Brandon Huffman following his official visit.  “I feel like they all had a keen attention to detail in every facet, through and through. I met with Jedd Fisch, Kevin Cummings, Tyler Owens and Ed Thompson. They were all genuine and they paid great attention to detail.”

All that attention to detail earned Washington’s coaching staff his pledge and with a few other targets still on the board at wide receiver, the Huskies could end up with one of the nation’s best classes at the position.
