The trade buzz surrounding Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams is as high as it’s ever been with the 2020 NFL Draft fast approaching, and teams starting to test the waters and see what they might be able to get him for.
This is great news for the Redskins, as they may finally be able to get Williams out of the building and onto a contending team where he can hopefully find the success he’s always dreamed of. Washington, on the other hand, would likely get some much-needed draft capital in return, and be able to start fresh in the locker room without a veteran player who obviously doesn’t want to be around.
So who are some teams that might be interested in trading for Williams? Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio broke it down as the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, and Philadelphia Eagles.

A later addition to the report noted that a source with the Eagles came out and said there is absolutely no truth to the fact that they are interested in Williams, but the other three teams seem very plausible. The Browns are currently the front-runners, and the Jets are not far behind. Both of those teams own the No. 10 and No. 11 picks in the draft on Thursday and are expected to take left tackles with their first picks.
However, an early run at tackles could leave them high and dry by the time their name is on the clock, which might spur an upped offer for Williams. If this were to happen, Washington is all the better for it.
