If you had predicted that we would see three former Michigan State quarterbacks starting just a few weeks into the NFL season, well, you might just have some kind of prescient superpowers, because that’s what we are seeing in Week 4 of the NFL season.
Nick Foles, who attended MSU for one year, has assumed starting duties for the Chicago Bears after Mitchell Trusbisky’s struggles last week. Brian Hoyer, with the New England Patriots, will get his first start of the year on Monday Night Football after Cam Newton tested positive for COVID-19. It’s also his first start since Week 6 of the 2017 season with the San Francisco 49ers. Kirk Cousins also continues to start for the Minnesota Vikings after a solid showing last week.
Funny enough, former Spartan wide receiver BJ Cunningham played with all of these guys during his time at Michigan State, which he mentions in his tweet below.
Nick Foles , Hoyer , and Cousins all starting this week.. crazy to think at one point, they were my qbs at #MichiganState in the same year. đź’Ż
