Three Celtics in double figures for Red Claws vs Salt Lake City Stars

Rookies Tremont Waters, Carsen Edwards and Tacko Fall continue to boost the Maine Red Claws with their play, helping the team beat the Salt Lake City Stars Thursday night with all three in double figures.

The bonds forged in Las Vegas Summer League continue to power the Maine Red Claws to an outstanding season, with a trio of Boston Celtics leading the way.

Two way players Tacko Fall and Tremont Waters were joined by Celtics rookie guard Carsen Edwards on Boston’s G League affiliate Jan. 16th. The trio helped the team beat the Salt Lake City Stars (the G League affiliate of the Jazz) 107 – 103 at home in Portland.

LSU product Waters logged 17 points, while Fall had another double-double with 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting and 10 rebounds.

Edwards added 14 points and a pair of steals, but continues to struggle with his shot, going 0-for-6 on the night from beyond the arc.

The heavy Celtics presence this season has helped the Red Claws put together one of the best campaigns in club history.

Currently, they only trail the 20-5 Wisconsin Herd for second in the G League’s Eastern conference, and hold the developmental league’s third-best record.
