DeAndre Hopkins could have been on the field in Detroit this Thanksgiving, but after the Houston Texans accepted a shocking trade that sent the All-Pro wide receiver to Arizona back in March, the former Texans star took the time Thursday to express just how thankful he is to be with the Cardinals.
The Cardinals sent running back David Johnson, a second-round pick and a 2021 fourth-rounder to Houston in exchange for Hopkins and a 2020 fourth-round pick. Eight months later, the Texans are 3-7, while the Cardinals are in the playoff race in the NFC, and Hopkins leads the league with 912 receiving yards.
In the middle of the Texans vs. Lions game on Thanksgiving Day, Hopkins saluted the Cardinals for making the move.
I’m thankful for the @AZCardinals believing in me enough to trade me for a 2nd rounder 🙏🏾🙏🏾
