The Philadelphia 76ers acquired Seth Curry from the Dallas Mavericks for a reason and that is to provide shooting. He shot 45.2% from deep in the 2019-20 season for Dallas and he is a career 44.3% shooter from beyond the arc so those numbers should excite fans.
However, there is another reason why his acquisition should excite the fan base. Not only can he shoot the ball, but he can handle the ball and create his own looks. That is something that will help this team a lot going forward.
A workout video posted online has him going through a couple of drills. He dribbled between his legs and stepped back while drilling a triple before he knocked down more from deep off the catch. These are the types of shots that are going to enhance Philadelphia’s offensive production around their two stars, Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.

Imagine Curry handling the ball out on the perimeter running a pick-and-roll with a guy like Embiid. The defender goes under the screen and Curry pulls the trigger on a shot from deep. That would make the offense that much more dangerous.
Simmons also has a knack for finding open 3-point shooters and making his teammates better. Now that he has a guy like Curry locked and loaded from deep heading into this next season, it will make the team’s offense flow much smoother. [lawrence-related id=39588,39585,39582]
