This is how Georgia head coach Kirby Smart described Notre Dame

High praise from the 2-time national championship winning coach

Georgia football head coach [autotag]Kirby Smart[/autotag] is one of the best coaches in all of football, and during Sugar Bowl media day, he was asked about what he sees from his opponent in Notre Dame.

The two-time national championship winning head coach said that the Irish are built “like an SEC team” according to The Athletic’s Pete Sampson, extremely high praise for Marcus Freeman’s team.

Smart went on to say that the physicality on both sides of the line, along with the linebacker play is why Notre Dame resembles an SEC team. For many years the conference has been atop of the college football world, as they have won 6-titles since the inception of the College Football Playoff in 2014.

If you look back to the turn of the century, the SEC has won 14 championships since 2000. The Irish will clearly have to take out one of their conference’s best if they want their season to continue.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart is presented with the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl trophy after winning the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl NCAA College Football Playoff semifinal game between Ohio State and Georgia on Sunday, Jan 1, 2022, in Atlanta. Georgia won 42-41.
