No, it was Richard Rodgers who produced the most impactful game from a Packers tight end between 2010 and 2019.
According to Football Outsiders, Rodgers’ career game against the Detroit Lions in 2015 – a night immortalized by his catch of Aaron Rodgers’ last-second Hail Mary to beat the Lions – ranked as the 14th best game by a tight end over the last decade according to DYAR, or defense-adjusted yards above replacement.
On Dec. 3, 2015, Rodgers – then a second-year tight end – caught all eight of his targets for 146 yards and the Hail Mary touchdown spanning 61 yards that allowed the Packers to escape Ford Field with a 27-23 victory. Rodgers produced seven first downs and created an eighth on a 40-yard pass interference penalty. He caught three passes over 20 yards and led the team in both catches and receiving yards.
Amazing, Rodgers only needed to play 34 snaps on offense to produce his career-best totals.
Of course, Rodgers saved his best for last, getting to the right spot at the right time to catch a perfectly-thrown Hail Mary in the end zone on an untimed down to win the game. According to Football Outsiders, the catch was worth an incredible 29 points of DYAR.
