At this point in both of their respective careers, it safe to say that Tom Brady and Cam Newton have accomplished vastly different things on the field. However, the gravity of a particular statistic may seem particularly surprising.
Itโs widely known that Brady is not exactly a rushing quarterback. In the meantime, Newton made a living off of it, particularly in the early part of his career. His dual-threat ability was one of the many reasons he was so fascinating to watch at Auburn.
According to statistics from Pro Football Focus, Newton has been one of the hardest quarterbacks to tackle since the 2011 season. Brady has made his living as a pocket-passer and is one of the greatest to do it in the history of the NFL. Nevertheless, he’s not exactly known for his running prowess.

If anything, this is a reminder that Josh McDaniels will have a quarterback with a vastly different skill set to work with. It will be interesting to see how Newton is utilized in New Englandโs offense.
