Thirty women settle claims against the Houston Texans

Houston-area attorney Tony Buzbee announced that thirty women have settled claims against the Houston Texans.

According to Houston-area attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents the women in the ongoing Deshaun Watson litigation, 30 women who made or planned to make claims against the Houston Texans have settled their claims with the franchise.

Buzbee announced the settlements in a statement released in social media, which read in part: “I will have no further comment on the allegations or the Texans’ alleged role, other than to say there is a marked contrast in the way in which the Texans addressed these allegations, and the way in which Watson’s team has done so.”

The claims followed explosive reporting from The New York Times, which found that the Texans arranged for Watson’s membership to a private club where some of the meetings took place, as well as provided the quarterback with a Non-disclosure Agreement following the meetings.

In recent weeks, Watson has settled a number of the claims against him. Furthermore, the NFL and the NFLPA underwent a three-day hearing before retired District Court Judge Sue L. Robinson, who is expected to release a decision on a potential suspension for Watson in the coming weeks.
