Auburn got a plethora of transfers during the offseason to help out on the defensive side of the ball. Throughout fall camp, Auburn’s strategy of picking those guys up has paid off tremendously.
Here’s what Harsin had to say about the playing time the defensive transfers will get this season.
“They’re all playing. Right now Donovan Kaufman is in that starting role at nickel. you’ve got (Bydarrius) Knighten that is right there in that boundary saftey role. Ro Torrence. He’s right there in the mix at corner. All of these guys that came in are all in the one and two deep. They’re all contributing on special teams. Tony Fair. He came in and had some things that he had to get better at. Had to get in better shape. And all he’s done is work since he’s gotten here.
What’s helped these transfers is understanding what fall camp is supposed to look like. They get the things that are necessary to get faster. It’s the reason why we signed them. I expect them all to contribute and play.”
