These two Gators players were our standout performers against the Vols

There were strong performances from Gators on both sides of the ball, but two stood out as the very best that Florida had to offer.

Defensive Player of the Game: LB Ventrell Miller

Truth be told, the biggest reason that Florida was able to hold the Vols to only 19 points was that their offense is not particularly good. UF’s defense has been questionable at best in recent weeks, but they were able to hold it together against an admittedly much inferior team. They received contributions from a handful of players, but the best of the batch was linebacker Ventrell Miller.

Florida’s redshirt junior was the team’s leading tackler, racking up a dozen against Tennessee. He also provided one of the six sacks the Gators were able to deliver on the afternoon. Saturday’s performance brings him to up 30 solo tackles, pushing him to the team lead. As the Gators take on LSU to round out the season, they could use a solidifying factor on defense. Hopefully, Miller can be a stopper in next week’s matchup as well.
