Offensive Player of the Game: QB Kyle Trask
It speaks volumes when a quarterback can throw for over 400 yards and still have a ho-hum game. Trask is simply too good for the college level, which he continues to reaffirm week in and week out. The numbers he put up in this performance are absolutely silly: 35-49 on passing attempts for 433 yards and four touchdowns, capped off with a successful pooch punt downed within five yards of the goal line.

The Gators’ stud quarterback is on track to win a Heisman Trophy, and he did nothing in this game to jeopardize his candidacy. Of course, one could get nitpicky and complain that he still isn’t showing the underlying skill that will get other top signal-callers selected at the very top the NFL draft. However, the fact of the matter is that without Trask, this offense would be hamstrung. He is the main reason this team can consistently put up big numbers, and he demonstrated that again on Saturday afternoon.
Trask forced the issue with this award, but wide receiver Kadarius Toney was also very good against Tennessee. Before the game, Tyler Nettuno wrote that “just because Trask has his favorite receiver back doesn’t mean Toney shouldn’t play a major role.” He was absolutely correct, and Toney displayed impressive route running and hands throughout the game. His final line included 108 yards and a touchdown.
Florida does it again with a TD before half as #Gators set to get ball back to start 3Q. Same as last week.
