WARNING: IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS AND WOULD LIKE TO NOT HAVE THAT SPOILED, PLEASE STOP READING.
Ready?
OK.
On Thursday, the trailer for The Matrix Ressurections dropped, and as someone who absolutely loved the first movie but was disappointed by the sequel and third flick, this one has some promise to it.
But there’s one question the trailer doesn’t answer.
At the end of Revolutions, Neo is dead in Machine City and the real version of him is carried away.
So … how does Neo come back? We don’t know thanks to the trailer, which looks super cool:
It's too late. Your eyes are already open.

Clearly, Neo is stuck in the Matrix again and has to take the red pill to find his way back to the actual real world. Got it.
But our clue is the title of the film, which plugs in (pun intended) to the religious themes we’ve seen throughout the first three movies: My guess is that the machines or … someone? … are able to resurrect Neo, plug him back into the Matrix and get him ready for another battle against agents.
Which also reminds me: Trinity is dead too! And there she is in the trailer! So … there are a lot of resurrections coming, apparently.
