There is millions of dollars and a record on the line for Mike Evans on Sunday

Mike Evans will have the chance to make millions in incentives and reach another milestone

Week 18 in the NFL can be enjoyable for many players, as it’s generally when trying to reach their contract incentives. A few extra catches or an additional touchdown can make someone anywhere from $100,000 to a few million.

Mike Evans’s contract incentive and moving up in the record books are directly tied together. His contract states that if he logs 70 catches, 1000 yards, and 10 touchdowns, it will trigger his three-million-dollar bonus. He currently sits at 65 catches, 915 yards, and 11 TDs. If he can reach 85 yards, it will also mean he will become the second person to record 11 seasons with 1,000 yards receiving, only behind Jerry Rice.

What makes this a very reachable milestone lies in the hands of Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who need this win to secure the NFC South. Mayfield leans on Evans heavily, and with the emergence of Jalen McMillan over the last few weeks, there should be more opportunities for one-on-one looks for No. 13.

While winning is the main objective, Mayfield made it clear that if the Buccaneers win the game, Evans will undoubtedly be a major part of that victory.
