Theo Pinson’s run with the Brooklyn Nets came to an end on Tuesday when the franchise requested waivers on the guard. After calling Barclays Center home for nearly two full seasons, the University of North Carolina alum was set to play elsewhere.
And it didn’t take long for Pinson to find a new team. While he may be calling a new arena home, he’s not exactly making a big move — geographically speaking, that is.
But Pinson is joining perhaps the last team Nets fans would want him to.
Brooklyn’s crosstown rival, the New York Knicks, requested waivers on Pinson on Friday, making the acquisition official with an announcement on Twitter:

To make room for Pinson, the Knicks waived combo guard Alonzo Trier.
New York will not be among the teams to play at Disney World in Florida when the NBA resumes the 2019-20 season, since they were well out of playoff contention before the league’s hiatus. So, Pinson will have to wait until 2020-21 to make his Knicks debut.
