Tennessee defeated Bowling Green, 38-6, to kick off its 2021 season.
Senior defensive back Theo Jackson recorded 11 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss and three pass breakups against Bowling Green.
Following the Vols’ season-opening win, Jackson met with media and discussed Tennessee’s performance.
Below are Jackson’s comments during his postgame media availability.
On how it felt running through the T:
“I am sad that I did not get to (run through the T) because I was a captain, but we will see next week. It is always a blessing to run through the T. It is one of the best traditions in college football and I will always cherish it.”
On the defensive performance as a unit:
“We did well especially in the run game, holding them to 30 yards rushing. Passing game, we need to tighten up.”
