The Vikings waive CB Holton Hill off IR

The Minnesota Vikings made a plethora of roster moves Tuesday, including waiving Holton Hill off IR.

Vikings CB Holton Hill came into the 2020 season with breakout potential.

Hill was good when he could find the field in previous seasons and this year, he had a shot at thriving in a bigger role, because Minnesota lost so many corners in free agency.

Everything sounded good in theory, but that was not how things turned out in practice. Hill struggled in his bigger role and he suffered a foot injury that led to him missing significant time.

On Tuesday, Minnesota announced that it waived Hill off the injured reserve. He played three seasons with the team, the best of which was as a rookie when he had seven passes defended and an interception, playing in all 16 games.

The team wasn’t done making roster moves on Tuesday. The Vikings also signed tight end Brandon Dillon and offensive lineman Zack Bailey to the practice squad.
