The Vikings are loaded with homegrown players

The Vikings know how to develop their players

The best way to build a winning franchise is to have homegrown players and the Minnesota Vikings have done a great job in doing just that.

Smart teams build through the NFL draft and with undrafted free agents and fill holes left over with free agency. Drafting talent before positions is a common theme at the top of this list.

According to Over The Cap’s Jason Fitzgerald, the Vikings have the fifth-most homegrown players on the main roster. At 67.8% of the roster, it’s an impressive number considering the 2021 draft class has only three of the 11 picks remaining on the roster.

Behind only the Cowboys, Ravens, Rams and Colts, the Vikings being this high shouldn’t come as a surprise. When you have a large amount of homegrown talent, consistency tends to follow. The Vikings hope that this draft class can be the beginning of continuing that trend.
