The video game industry reacts to prominent insider leaving Twitter

Nibel, a popular gaming news source, is done.

Keeping up with the never-ending slew of video game news is tough — and few had their hands on that pulse like Nibel, the well-known industry insider who regularly updates everyone on Twitter. Sadly on Monday, Nibel announced he’s leaving the platform behind.

“After some introspection, I’ve made the decision to focus my time and energy elsewhere and move on from Twitter,” reads Nibel’s statement. “This marks the end of my video games coverage and my active participation in this platform.”

We can’t link to the actual tweet since Nibel has locked his account, but rest assured – this is the real deal.

Nibel broke many notable news stories, highlighting everything from quiet Metroid Prime 4 updates to Hidetaka Miyazaki’s favorite Elden Ring boss. GLHF has sourced him in many articles, and we’re legitimately sad to see him go.

Most of the games industry feels the same way. Whether it’s journalists, influencers, or just people looking for breaking news — Nibel left quite an impression on everyone. Just check out the reactions below to see what we mean.
