The Pittsburgh Steelers boast one of the best, if not the best, defensive lines in the NFL. Collectively, the defense was the lone bright spot for the Steelers in 2019. They will certainly be a force to be reckoned with once again in 2020.
Three of Pittsburgh’s opponents this upcoming season aren’t too shabby themselves along the D-line.
Pro Football Focus recently ranked the NFL’s top defensive lines, which feature the Philadelphia Eagles (No. 2), Washington (No. 3) and the Denver Broncos (No. 7). The Steelers offense will undoubtedly face a challenge in Weeks 2, 5 and 13 with these respective NFC lines. Ben Roethlisberger will need to keep his head on a swivel with the Eagles Fletcher Cox, Washington’s rookie Chase Young and the Broncos Von Miller looking to threaten him.
The Cincinnati Bengals D-line also squeaked by in the top 10 and landed at No. 10.
The black and gold have a ton of work to do in training camp with changes along their offensive line, but PFF ranked them No. 9 in the best of the league’s units.
