Mike and Kyle Shanahan are one of a number of father-son tandems to have coached or managed.

Don Shula spent 33 consecutive years as a head coach in the NFL. Along the way he would win two Super Bowls (VII, VIII). Both of Don’s sons followed in their father’s footsteps. Dave became head coach of the Bengals in 1992. Mike, has spent many decades in coaching roles in both NFL and college football, he served as the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide from 2003-06.

Bum and Wade Phillips

Bum Phillips (left) famously coached the Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints. His son Wade (second from right) has held numerous positions and has been a head coach for the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, and Dallas Cowboys. He was also an interim head coach for the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, and the Houston Texans.
