The search for the best transfer portal combinations at USC

We told @MarkRogersTV that if #USC needs a combination of positions in the portal, one combo is better than the others.

Game shows and other games of chance often involve choosing one option out of three. Let’s Make A Deal, The Price Is Right, or other venues have posed this challenge to you at some point in your life.

A, B, or C?

Door No. 1, No. 2, or No. 3?

At a restaurant, you might have a choice of three side dishes: fries, a side salad, or cole slaw. We often confront the simple question in various forms: Which combination would you prefer?

Let’s apply this to the 2023 USC football roster and the current spring transfer portal window.
Which combination of roster positions would you prefer if you are a USC fan, and you are presented with a scenario in which the Trojans add two players through the transfer portal?

Would you want the Trojans to do the “double double” and get two defensive linemen in the portal?

Would you want USC to load up on the line and get one defensive lineman and one offensive lineman?

Or, would you want USC to have an inside-outside balance, getting one lineman (offensive or defensive) and another piece in the secondary?

Those are the three combination platters being put before you. We gave our own answer to Mark Rogers on his USC channel at The Voice of College Football:
