The Seattle Seahawks lost at home to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, which could lead to them not having any home games in the NFC playoffs.
But after the game we learned the loss was even more costly than that as Pete Carroll announced running backs Chris Carson (hip) and CJ Prosise (arm) are out for next week’s showdown the 49ers and offensive tackle Duane Brown needs minor knee surgery and will also miss the 49ers game.
Yikes.
The Seahawks entered Sunday on top of the NFC playoff standings. Now they are No. 5 and they have a lot more on the line next Sunday night when they face the 49ers in what will determine the the NFC West title and a likely bye in the playoffs.
Pete Carroll seemed stunned by the injuries:
LT Duane Brown needs knee surgery, relatively minor but will miss next week vs SF and perhaps playoffs. #Seahawks are up against it. Carroll: “We are going to figure out a way.” pic.twitter.com/kAsLUncuAt

Crazy how fast things can change in the NFL.
Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals was crushing to fans, who then crushed Carroll:
One of the most embarrassing losses of the Pete Carroll era. No other words for this

Pete Carroll should be demoted from HC to Culture Setter or something idk lol.
He’s really good at creating a winning culture but lately this whole coaching staff has been terrible at calling plays, scheming and making game time decisions like timeouts or going for it on 4th down— Vountee🐢🇲🇽 (@vountee) December 23, 2019
Is Pete Carroll throwing this game? Because these are decisions you make when you're actively trying to lose

Pete Carroll getting outcoached by a guy who got fired for having a sub .500 coaching record in the big 12 seems less than ideal

Rough Sunday in Seattle.
