‘The Roast of Tom Brady’ Netflix special gets nominated for Emmy

Tom Brady has an opportunity to win another trophy

“The Greatest Roast Of All Time: Tom Brady” received an Emmy award nomination on Wednesday for Outstanding Variety Special (Live).

The full list of nominees for the 76th edition of the awards show was released on Wednesday, and Brady’s Netflix special was among the nominees, per Deadline.

Other contenders in the category include the Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show, 66th Grammy Awards, The Oscars and the 76th Annual Tony Awards.

The Brady roast was a star-studded affair with some of the biggest names in comedy coming out to roast the greatest quarterback of all time. Ben Affleck, Andrew Schultz, Nikki Glazer and Tony Hinchcliffe were just a few of the roasters who spoke onstage.

Former Patriots players Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski and Drew Bledsoe also took their turn to get in some verbal jabs at Brady.

The nomination itself is quite the paradox, given that Brady said he regretted doing the roast after the fact. Nevertheless, it puts him in a familiar spot, as he has another opportunity to take home a trophy.
