The Rams tried very hard to trade up for Brock Bowers in the 2024 NFL Draft

The L.A. Rams tried repeatedly to trade up on draft day for Georgia TE Brock Bowers, but the New York Jets wouldn’t bite on the offers

The New York Jets traded back one spot in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. New York slid back to No. 11 from 10 to allow the Minnesota Vikings to move up and snag Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy.

It turns out, the Jets could have kept on moving back.

The Los Angeles Rams fervently approached the Jets about a potential deal so L.A. could move way up from No. 19 to No. 11. The Rams offered the Jets No. 19, a second-round pick and a third-round pick for No. 11 and a sixth-rounder, as shown in the docuseries “The Pick is In.”

The Rams really wanted Georgia TE Brock Bowers, having earlier tried to move up to 10. In that instance, the Vikings made a better offer. The Jets ultimately stayed put at 11 after sliding back a spot and selected Penn State OT Olu Fashanu instead of accepting the deal.

Bowers wound up going No. 13 overall to the Las Vegas Raiders, while the Rams picked Florida State EDGE Jared Verse at 19.
