It says a lot about a player who will never actually be teammates with another, treating them like they are already in the room.
That’s exactly the case with projected Irish starting quarterback [autotag]Riley Leonard[/autotag] and 2025 commit [autotag]Deuce Knight[/autotag]. It’s highly unlikely they will ever share a quarterback room together in South Bend, but that hasn’t stop their relationship.
In an interview with Matt DeGregorio of WLOX in Florida, Knight explained how much of an impact that Leonard has had on him. Not only do they chat, but they’ve been together a good amount while he’s been on campus, and the current starter has even invited him to train together.
“This past summer, I’ve been with Riley a lot up at Notre Dame. Even down here, Riley invited me to come train with him, so that was special. He’s a great guy.”

Recruiting has now changed, but what hasn’t is the relationships. The two quarterbacks have a bond that seems unbreakable, which is another feather in Notre Dame’s recruiting hat.
