The possibility exists: Pac-12 could have multiple 2023 Heisman finalists

Caleb and Penix. Caleb and Nix. Nix and Penix. The #Pac12 could easily have multiple Heisman finalists this December.

The Pac-12 is loaded with good football teams this year because the conference has a bunch of elite quarterbacks returning for one more season, accompanied by strong and deep wide receiver rooms and quality offensive lines. It will be hard to stop USC’s offense, much as it will be hard to stop Oregon’s offense, Washington’s offense, and Utah’s offense.

The Pac-12 could easily produce multiple Heisman Trophy finalists this December in New York. One ESPN analyst, Mark Schlabach, is predicting that will happen:

“Williams, who returns to USC for his final season in college football, will attempt to become only the second player to win the Heisman Trophy twice. Former Ohio State running back Archie Griffin is the only two-time winner, in 1974 and 1975. Williams could be even better this year with former Arizona Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury tutoring him. As good as Williams was last season, Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. led the Pac-12 in passing yards (4,641) and had 31 touchdowns and eight picks. Both will be Heisman Trophy finalists.”
