The Pop-Tarts Bowl (non-edible) mascot popped out of a toaster, and it was glorious

Say hello to the REAL Hunger Games.

Thursday’s Pop-Tarts Bowl featured one of the funniest mascots of all time, and the reveal for said Pop-Tarts mascot did not disappoint.

Before kickoff between North Carolina State and Kansas State, the Pop-Tarts Bowl mascot ascended into the air out of a giant toaster with a smoke show and sparklers to the tune of Taylor Swift’s “…Ready For It?”

Even though we’ve seen some wacky things in college football this season, we’re not sure anything tops the reveal of the Pop-Tarts Bowl mascot (even if it’s not, y’know, the other one made of actual Pop-Tart, ready to be consumed by the winning team after the game).

Just look at this thing in all its Pop-Tart gloy.

If anything, this is genius marketing for Pop-Tarts. Don’t you want to open a pack of two and chow down on them while you watch the game?

Well, the victors in Thursday’s bowl game will get to devour this mascot’s Pop-Tart friend, which will get its brief moment in the spotlight after the final horn before getting eaten by a bunch of hungry college football players.

For now, we’ll enjoy the non-edible mascot and its incredible introduction.
