The Players Championship continues Friday at TPC Sawgrass’ Players Stadium Course, just without fans.
Reigning champion and World No. 1 Rory McIlroy returns to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, one year after winning the event by one shot over Jim Furyk at 16 under.
McIlroy, who opened with an even-par 72, is grouped with Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm for the event’s first two rounds. McIlroy’s group tees off the second round Friday at 8:46 a.m. from the 10th tee.
Featured groups for Friday include the groups of Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth; Webb Simpson, Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson; Patrick Reed, Patrick Cantlay and Hideki Matsuyama; and Sungjae Im, Gary Woodland and Bryson DeChambeau.
