The New York Jets took the lead against the New England Patriots in Week 9, and NFL fans saw a window to make jokes about Bill Belichick’s team — and not Adam Gase’s team — tanking in 2020 to land a quarterback atop the draft.
Quarterback Joe Flacco delivered a beautiful pass for a 50-yard touchdown to receiver Breshad Perriman, who toasted cornerback J.C. Jackson. With cornerback Stephon Gilmore injured, Jackson was the team’s top corner on Monday night. But it didn’t look like it on this drive, with Jackson allowing 67 yards in receptions while committing a defensive pass interference. And, of course, he allowed Flaccos’ long touchdown pass. Here’s a look.

The Patriots are just proving that they’re better than the Jets at everything…including tanking. Bring on the golden boy! pic.twitter.com/ZKHQt51FnS
