The Patriots leave Jerry Jones pointing fingers after Cowboys’ loss

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wasn’t happy with his coaching staff after loss to Patriots.

The Dallas Cowboys fell to 6-5 after losing to the New England Patriots in a rainy Week 12 matchup.

The Patriots pieced together a 13-9 win with an outstanding defensive performance and another great day of coaching. New England didn’t have the best offensive day, but they’ve seemed to negate that this season with excellent defensive and special teams performances.

Dallas came into the game with the league’s No. 1 offense and the Patriots featured the No. 1 defense. After seeing what Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens did to New England, there was definitely a possibility that Dak Prescott ran the scoreboard up. That wasn’t the case, and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones admitted that he’s getting fed up with it.

“With the makeup of this team, I shouldn’t be this frustrated,” Jones said, via NFL.com.

The Patriots made their mark on the game after Matthew Slater blocked a punt and N’Keal Harry scored a touchdown quickly after. This special teams miscue changed the complexion of the game, and Jones wasn’t afraid to speak on it — even though he called his coaches out.

“Special teams is totally a reflection of coaching,” Jones continued.

“I don’t think there’s a game that a coaching staff has … that it couldn’t do better in,” Jones said. “I just don’t like it that we’ve got so many as I’m standing here tonight.”

Jones will use this as fuel to fire up tenth-year head coach Jason Garrett. This coaching staff has led their team to an undefeated record against divisional opponents, but they’re now 0-4 against teams with winning records.

“It’s frustrating to me to just be reminded that some of the fundamentals of football and coaching were what beat us out there today,” Jones said.

The Patriots tend to bring out similar reactions in opposing teams.
