At long last, the Nintendo Switch has a dedicated Twitch app.
Switch owners can (finally) watch livestreams of their favorite content creators, esports tournaments or maybe even animals at the zoo. The app works in both docked and undocked modes, too. Meaning you can Twitch on Switch wherever! Unless you’re driving, then it’s eyes on the road, buster.
It’s only a viewing app, though. So anyone hoping for a means to stream Switch gameplay similar to how the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S do it will likely be disappointed. Nintendo did release a few screenshots of how the Twitch app, which you can check out below.

Nintendo catches a lot of heat for always being behind on the times and it’s kind of easy to see why. Twitch was huge well before the Switch ever came out, yet it’s only getting an app now. Maybe when the company isn’t busy dealing with supply chain issues, we can expect more dedicated apps like this.
The Twitch app is already up on the Nintendo eShop for free, at least. So go on, then. Give it a try!
