The new Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak update, Title Update 3, is live now on Nintendo Switch and PC, bringing with it a range of new items and monsters, and letting you take NPC companions on every Master Rank quest at last. Headlining the new monsters is the Risen Elder Dragon known as Chaotic Gore Magala, a variant of Monster Hunter 4’s flagship monster with a very nasty temper indeed.
Chaotic Gore Magala are those stuck between their standard form and Shagaru Magala form, which means they can use attacks unique to both species. Risen Teostra and Risen Kushala Daora join this fiend, both with new attacks they resort to when in an angered state. You need to reach Master Rank 120 to fight Kushala Deora and MR 140 to face off against Teostra.
If these or any Master Rank quests are giving you trouble, you don’t have to worry about matching with another player to get started.
You can now invite your NPC Follower companions along with you for nearly every Master Rank quest, including the new Anomaly Quests. Just make sure to spend time with your Followers and complete their quests to help bring out their full potential.
Title Update 3’s new A7 Anomaly Quests pit you against Magnamalo, Bazelgeuse, and Espinas for a chance to acquire sturdy materials used to craft weapons and armor at the highest level. Speaking of level, the new update raises the max item level to 200.
Capcom still has more planned for the hit RPG in the coming months. A fourth Title Update is planned for winter 2023, and Title Update 5 will release in spring 2023. If that seems like too long to wait, check out the upcoming Wild Hearts from Koei Tecmo for a different spin on the monster-hunting genre.
