For 17 seasons, the Brooklyn Nets have failed to capture just one win on the road against the Spurs. On Monday night, big efforts from James Harden, Kyrie Irving, Bruce Brown, and Nicolas Claxton were barely enough for the Nets to defeat the Spurs 124-113 in overtime, giving the franchise it’s first road win in San Antonio since January 22, 2002.
The Nets held on to a late eight-point lead with under three minutes left in the the fourth quarter. In what seemed like a blur, San Antonio went on a mini 8-0 run to tie the game at the buzzer, courtesy of Dejounte Murray. To the surprise of many, LaMarcus Aldridge finished the game with only two points and four rebounds in 15 minutes of action while five Spurs finished in double figures, led by DeMar DeRozan.

The Nets as a whole only committed five turnovers. This is a huge improvement from the 19 turnovers they committed last game against the Mavericks. Although Brooklyn kept the turnover tally down, this was still a close one in the end.
Harden completed his seventh triple-double with Brooklyn, finishing the game with 30 points, 15 assists and 14 rebounds. Kyrie Irving added 27 for the Nets, and Bruce Brown scored 23, extending his run of impressive performances.
