The Alabama Crimson Tide have one commitment for 2022, linebacker Robert Woodyard of Mobile, Alabama.
On Saturday, one of Alabama’s top targets for the 2022 class announced when he would make his college commitment.
Emmanuel Henderson, a five-star running back from Geneva County High in Hartford, Alabama, says he will announce his choice on March 13.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Henderson is the No. 1 ranked running back in the 2022 class and is expected to choose among Alabama, Auburn and Clemson, among others.
The Crimson Tide recently lost running backs coach Charles Huff, who left to become the head coach at Marshall. Alabama is reportedly set to hire North Carolina running backs coach Robert Gillespie to replace Huff.
Despite losing Huff, Henderson remains in contact with Alabama’s coaching staff, including area recruiter Charles Kelly.
Alabama is apparently pitching the idea of Henderson playing multiple positions, as he told Hank South of 247Sports.
“I can always move around because I’m an athlete,” Henderson said. “I can play special teams, I can play slot receiver, wherever they need me.”
Henderson is the No. 22 overall player in 2022, according to the 247Sports composite rankings, and the No. 2 player in Alabama.
Committing March 13th!!!! God is good🙏🏾
