The National Basketball Association has announced that it has appointed George Aivazoglou as its head of fan engagement and direct-to-consumer for Europe and the Middle East. In this newly-created role, Aivazoglou will over responsibility over all of the NBA’s fan touchpoints across Europe and the Middle East, including grassroots events and localised marketing, content and communications. He will focus on the league’s direct-to-consumer efforts in the region, such as the NBA’s mobile app and NBA TV over-the-top service, bringing with him a wealth of experience in digital media positions.
