The latest injury update on Commanders QB Jayden Daniels

What’s the latest on Commanders QB Jayden Daniels?

The Washington Commanders had a scare on Sunday when rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels landed awkwardly on his chest and was removed from the game. The Commanders indicated a rib injury and Daniels did not return.

Washington won the game over Carolina, 40-7, so Daniels didn’t need to return. During Sunday’s game, Daniels’ mother tweeted that her son was fine. Daniels rejoined his teammates on the sideline after going into the locker room for an X-ray.

After the game, head coach Dan Quinn said he had no update on Daniels. However, ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler indicated good news for Daniels and the Commanders.

On Monday, Fox NFL insider Jordan Schultz had the latest on Daniels.

#Commanders rookie QB sensation Jayden Daniels is undergoing tests today to determine the severity of his rib injury, per sources. Initial tests on Sunday showed no fractures, but further tests today and possibly in the coming days will provide more clarity.

That’s good news. However, Washington will play it safe with Daniels. The Commanders will not rush him back for next week’s showdown with the Chicago Bears and No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams if he’s not 100%.

Quinn speaks to the media at 3:30 p.m. ET Monday.
